With a view to boosting incubators IPEME signs a partnership agreement with RAIZCORP

The Institute for the Promotion of Small and Medium Enterprises (IPEME), within the scope of its responsibility for the dynamism and business development of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MPME's), has recently signed a partnership agreement with Raizcorp.

It is a firm that supports the growth and development of entrepreneurs in different contexts and at different stages of their life cycle. Raizcorp operates in different divisions that meet the specific needs of entrepreneurs and those who support them.

It appears to be the only genuine business incubator in Africa, although it considers itself a business cutter rather than an incubator. Among several services, there is commercial support for entrepreneurs who are enthusiastic and eager for growth, providing a platform that stimulates knowledge and an orientation that can be translated into practical commercial success.

The partnership agreement was signed by Joaquina Gumeta, Director General of IPEME and by Raimundo João Zandamela, administrator of Raizcorp.

The recent agreement signed between both entities aims to establish the terms, conditions, scope of work and responsibilities of the Parties within the scope of the inter-institutional partnership, specifically, in the design of an organizational structure that aims to establish a basis for mutual cooperation in which each Party contributes to its core values and develops business incubation and business development.

Specifically, the partnership will focus on establishing new incubators in Maputo, Pemba and Nampula during the pilot phase and may expand to other regions as more funding partners are acquired. For Maputo it will accommodate the urban incubator called “Prosperador” and for the provinces of Cabo Delgado and Nampula the model will be a remote Raizcorp incubator called “Beacon”.

Also within the scope of this partnership, Raizcorp will also be able to assume and improve the existing IPEME infrastructures, to raise partnerships and to support incubation programs and the development of MSME's in Mozambique, as well as securing funds for the financing of incubators and joint programs. , with the IPEME.

At the end of the event, the Director General of IPEME said “we are to be congratulated, not for the result of the work, but for the initiative and the path we have been following since the beginning of this work, this in itself already shows the commitment of both entities, even in the face of of current challenges. There is a need to continue to embrace the Micro, Small and Medium-sized National Enterprises because only then will we be able to contribute to the growth of the country's economy”.

In turn, the Administrator of Raizcorp said that the partnership is already a good sign for the beginning of the work ahead, even in the face of the world situation, caused by the Covid19 pandemic, associated with the unfavorable economic situation that the country is going through, both entities will be able to contribute to the improvement of competitiveness through the acceleration and development of the businesses of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises.
